Disaster relief shelters
Develop collapsible plastic interlocking cubes that can be quickly transported to create shelters in international disaster areas.
1) can be stacked as multilevel pyramids or as cubes with built in ladders to provide high density housing as opposed to shanty towns. Possible to increase density 3-4X (or maybe more) over tents and shantys.
2) easily cleanable/sterilizable and long lasting for long term reusability
3) cheap to manufacture using injection molded processes and simple construction
4) lightweight and small in size when collapsed for transport and long term storage
5) better protection from the elements - especially rain, than tents and shantys
6) interlocking plumbing to provide for gravity based running water and sewage disposal (interlocking pipe system) to prevent spread of disease
7) may contain built in tables/chairs/beds recessed into floor/walls for increased usability
8) may contain fireproof area and smoke release system for cooking using wood or other combustible materials.
